Before i post my second rebuild thread, lets compare the differences between forged pistons and rods with my current mod
I use CP pistons, made from US 82mm. it's a custom piston with 19mm wrist pin. 9.0:1 compression ratio.
Duratech I beam con rods, i beleif made from China but most of Malaysian using it for more than 500whp and still reliable.
Bolt designed by ARP from US with size of 7/16. it smaller compare to 14mm bolt from CA18 rods but it's stronger and higher tensile strength.

will it be a problem if there is no oil jet hole?

ReplyDeletewell i have no worry on how much boost on it..coz it is all depands on tuning, no point of increasing the boost if running lean on the engine. FYI last time it was 1.5 bar on microtech. 8.9:1 sc piston is rated on 1.6 engine, and it goes higher if fitted on 4g93. if u ask me i don't wanna go for it coz the possibility to a knock/detonation condition much more faster than 8.0:1 piston.
ReplyDeleteif the engine knocked on 8.0:1 piston, i would lower down the boost controller rather than change the lower compression piston

ReplyDeletei beam is available here in sunway usj malaysia. it is exactly same dimension to 4g93 rod..if not mistaken 136mm( measured in accurately last time)
